Where the places come from
Every list starts with a hand-checked shortlist drawn from published writing about each city's food: guides, newspaper and magazine pieces, and long-running local reporting. For each place we record the branch, the locality and what to order, and we keep the sources behind it. Until real votes arrive, that shortlist is what you see, under the label Editorial picks.
How the order changes
Tapping Worth it or Not worth it is one signal, not a score. Signals count for more when they come from someone who keeps coming back, votes across different dishes and areas, and is browsing from the city itself. Signals from a single burst of activity, from one network, or from far away count for very little. Older signals fade over time, so a place has to keep earning its place.
Your vote is saved when you tap. New votes usually appear in the public counts and rankings over the next 1–3 days, and no single day can shift a list very far. Each place shows its total published votes, with Worth it and Not worth it counts. These are vote counts, not the weighted scores used to order the list. A browser identity counts once per place and dish; it is not a verified count of individual people.
What the labels mean
Editorial picks rely on the researched shortlist. Community favourites have the strongest support in published votes. Mixed verdicts have mixed support. No clear verdict yet means there are too few votes or too little support for a firm recommendation; it does not mean the place opened recently.
No advertising, ever
No place can pay to appear, to move up, or to have a rival taken down. There are no ads on this site and there will not be. If a restaurant offers you something in return for a vote, that is exactly the behaviour the weighting is built to ignore.
What we store about you
There are no accounts and no sign-in. When you first vote we set one cookie holding a random id, so that your own votes can be counted once and shown back to you on Your picks. We keep a one-way scrambled form of your rough network address, never the address itself, and a short note of your browser family. Voting signals are kept for 180 days and then dropped.
We do not sell any of it, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. Clearing your cookies clears your picks on this device.
Saving places for later
Want to try is your private shortlist, separate from voting. Saving a place does not endorse it or change its ranking. Saved places stay in this browser without an account, and do not sync to another device. Clearing this site's browser storage removes the shortlist.

The lists reflect editorial judgement and community votes, offered in good faith and without any promise about a meal you go on to eat.
Something wrong, or a complaint
If a place has closed, the wrong branch is listed, the dish is off the menu, or the votes look unfair, please tell us and we will look within seven days.
